  • Active-ATE Adventure Playground is one of Perth’s newest and brightest Indoor Play Centre’s where children from the ages of 0- 12 years have the opportunity to come and play all day! Call us to book your child's party, or just come down and have a coffee with friends while the kids play!

Studies have shown that the best ways for people to learn is by doing the real thing. The second best way is by simulating the real experience, also known as games.
The Active-Ate.com Family Wellness Game was designed so that children and parents alike could learn about the importance of healthy lifestyle principals. Each participant begins by choosing their character and player score card. The goal is to build the 'perfect' day by collecting 3 heart tokens - Active Body, 5 nutrition stars - Active Nutrition and 3 arrow tokens - Active Mind. Playing this game will teach participants that we have to 'pay' for the food we consume by balancing it out with the appropriate amount of exercise.
A key component of why this game is enjoyed by Kids between the ages of 6 and 12 is the Opportunity Cards. These cards require the players to perform tasks which are then rewarded. The tasks include challenges like, tell a joke, and describe a happy time, answering health questions, performing an exercise or being silly and walking like a duck. These cards, whilst keeping the kids entertained, re-enforce the 3 core principles from a first hand approach.
The Active Body cards are all rated with 1-3 hearts dependant on the amount of exertion involved in the activity. For example raking the leaves for 30 minutes is 1 heart while climbing stairs for 30 minutes is 3 hearts.
The Active Nutrition cards have been rated based on the approved traffic light concept; green meaning eat often, amber meaning eat occasionally and red meaning do not eat at all. Each player must collect 5 stars for their scorecard, the majority being green foods with a maximum of 2 amber foods and no red foods are allowed at all.
The game also incorporates good morals and values on the Active Mind cards which we hope will be instilled in the lives of children at an early age. One Active Mind card may encourage the player to help out their peer with his math's homework, whilst another card will be about helping their family by doing all their chores. Each player must collect 3 Active Mind arrows to complete their score card.
The second part of the game is Life Goals and is played on the centre of the board. The first player to land on their characters life goal is the winner. Suitable for ages 6 - 12. This game is assured to provide the whole family "Lessons that last a Lifetime
